Promotional and Gift Packaging that Pops

We are always careful to describe and detail the potential pitfalls of investing a lot of money/time/attention to the exterior of a box or envelope that is intended to ship to a customer/end user. We have seen too many packages show up at our doorstep from FedEx and UPS with scrapes, scuffs and other blemishes. For this reason among others, we typically recommend placing the emphasis of your branding and graphics on the inside of your box, or even shipping your box or envelope within another package for added protection from the elements.

However, this applies specifically to the majority of DTC packaging. When the discussion turns to promotional or gift packaging it could require that extra added pop or branding to really turn heads and grab attention, whether shipping or handing out at a marketing event/meeting/trade show etc.. When you really want to make an impression, there are upgrades and options available to you that can take your packaging to a whole new level.

Soft Touch

The envelopes below are not just eye-catching. You can feel the difference with a soft touch laminate that can be achieved on paperboard rigid mailers such as these, or paperboard boxes. For a similar effect on a corrugated box, you can also apply a soft touch litho label. From a customer experience standpoint, there really is no equal. This also helps reduce potential fingerprint smudges that can be seen on darker colors when printed on paperboard.

Spot UV Gloss

Although difficult to capture on camera, the picture below does showcase the shine of the gold on this envelope which has a spot UV gloss, giving a brilliant contrast to the soft touch black. This is again possible on all paperboard packaging, as well as litho label. With new advancements in digital printing, there are a wide variety of high gloss, semi-gloss or spot gloss options available as well. Ink is advancing so much that a glossy kemi board may not even be needed to get glossy graphics and text on a standard matte white board. The options are many and we are experienced and well versed in them all, and can help you realize the best one for your vision.

Embossing

Similarly to the soft touch option, sometimes the feel of the packaging is just as important as the look. Embossing is another excellent feature that can truly differentiate your packaging. This can be achieved on paperboard, as well as rigid wall, two piece boxes.

Micro-Flutes and Triple White

In the corrugated world specifically, triple white board is a remarkable upgrade because it is such a clean and sleek look. Micro flutes also help diminish the clunkiness or industrial look of a box and present a much more refined appearance.

Digital Printing

As stated previously, there have been amazing advancements in digital printing on corrugated in just the past few years. We are seeing some truly unique and beautiful designs brought to us from very talented graphic artists. We can print virtually anything without limitation like no other time in packaging history. And it’s becoming more affordable and efficient than ever.
