Tariff Free Packaging Made in the USA—No Imported Products/Materials!

The recent news headlines have caused quite a stir with recent talks of “Trade Wars” as US-implemented tariffs have led to numerous retaliatory tariffs from other countries. While the full impact and outcome of these policies remains to be seen, most specifically pertaining to pricing of many products/goods, it’s yet another reminder that buying domestic products and materials is always the safest bet to avoid potential disasters in the supply chain.

Salazar Packaging has never imported any products in our nearly two decades of business. All of our packaging is produced domestically in various plants across the country. This is one of our main differentiators from our competitors who source packaging materials from overseas and are largely at the mercy of many factors outside of their control to get your boxes or envelopes produced with quality results in as little time as possible.

Why Packaging Made in the USA Matters?

We probably don’t flaunt it as much as we should, but our lead times are generally unmatched in the industry. A standard first time custom box or envelope order typically ships to you within a few weeks of your initial order placement. We have the advantage of not needing to rely on the unpredictable importing process when we order materials (board, ink, tooling). We have seen too many nightmare scenarios for businesses who come to us with stories of 3, 6 or even 9 month lead times waiting for their packaging, only for it to arrive in poor quality from overseas manufacturers.

There are many variables when ordering from overseas, and they are all out of your control. When you are dealing with a supplier from halfway across the globe, you are dealing with a different time zone, in some cases different weather/seasons, different economics, different labor forces, politics and many other factors that all must align perfectly just for your boxes to ship on time, and even when they do they still have to make it across an ocean. If something does go wrong and you want to order replacement product, all of those factors must align perfectly again for you to get the replacement order on time, and by that point you’ve likely already missed your deadline or launch.

Many of our plants are located within driving distance of our office, meaning we often are on site at the press the day your boxes are being produced. This allows us to ensure that we are delivering on exactly what we’ve promised to you, and we can spot any potential errors before the boxes are ever shipped to you. It also means that the steps leading up to production can go as smoothly as possible, from creating and cutting design and ink samples, proofs and other steps along the way to best meet your expectations and bring your packaging vision to life.
